Research interests

 

Anthropology of development: development policy and practice in Latin America; development discourse; development projects in rural areas, especially the indigenous; microcredits; agricultural development and sustainable agriculture.

 

Postdevelopment: political ontologies in Latin America.

 

Economic anthropology: local economic practices, alternative forms of exchange, gift economy, grassroots economics.

 

Sustainable degrowth: anthropological sources of degrowth, anti-utilitarianism, post-development anthropology, anthropology of capitalist society, anthropology of alternative economies, anthropology of alternative agricultural practices; small holders’ agriculture.

 

Applied research: activist anthropology, NGOs, global education, the fusion of cultural animation with ethnography, social movements.
