The Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology serves as an editorial office for the following periodicals:

LUD is a peer-reviewed journal representing a vivid tradition of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology in Poland.

Many generations of Polish ethnologists have left a mark of their ethnographic engagements on Lud’s pages both through the ethnographic documentation of cultural variation, and their involvement in theoretical and methodological debates.

It is its “genealogical depth” that makes the journal unique in the Polish context. Similarly, in Europe, the journal remains one of the very few of such kind. Since its establishment in 1895, the journal was closely connected to the Polish Ethnological Society (Polskie Towarzystwo Ludoznawcze, PTL), an association which played a crucial role in the development of ethnology in Poland. Since 1992, LUD’s position has been strengthen due to becoming a body of the Committee on Ethnological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In1968, the editorial office was relocated to Poznań. Throughout the years 1968-1987, Prof. Józef Burszta served as the editor-in-chief, and then (1988-2006) Prof. Zbigniew Jasiewicz. In 2007, this post was taken by the Associate Professor Danuta Penkala-Gawęcka.
